Recent Paintings

My works are predominantly oil on canvas.  In essence, I am interested in the subtleties of colour and form, shadow and light to convey a feeling.  I undertake a minimalistic approach to allow myself to focus on those details that are essential and necessary to communicate visually.  My paintings are painted with many very thin layers of transparent paint.  Because of this technique, the paintings have a compelling inner glow and to some extent evoke a sense of spirituality, as well as a place of timelessness and peacefulness. They compel the viewer to look closer and immerse themselves into the painting devoid of any human presence.
